In theory, there is no God simply because God is simply an idea created by humans, there is no real evidence whatsoever of any greater being. If your going to answer, please make it something that will actually matter, not a jumbled mess of misspelled words and insults. I'm sure I could be influenced into believing, but I always get stuck at the fact that the idea of God is just like a way for people to cope with their problems. I would like to believe and be a good Christian, I just can't though. It seems to me that when we die, all that happens is that we stop being there and our brains die, because our brains are the only thing saying a God really does exist. Even just telling me some super amazing mircle could push me over the fence.

I worded my questions wrong, I know that it is possible, I meant more of "can anyone make me believe it?"

You are probably an agnostic, which is a logical answer to the question of whether or not there is a deity.

Ok, I am going to give you a serious answer, because you have asked a serious question. It is true that it appears from the history that we have access to, that humans have always sought out a relationship with something greater than themselves, a Higher Being. I don't think anyone can really convince you that God exists. I would just plant a little seed in your heart though, that the fact that you WOULD LIKE TO BELIEVE is enough for you to know that you, in reality, do already believe in something greater than yourself. Consider the possibility that you can nurture a relationship with this "bigger than yourself entity" without becoming any particular religion. It is your personal relationship to All That Is that is important, now how you choose to reflect it. If you are drawn to Christianity, then that would be good for you. As for the part about what happens when we die, you might want to visit www.nderf.org and read some of the hundreds of Near Death Experiences. Start exploring. Read and learn about spirituality, not just religions. If you are really serious about exploring your existence and the existence of Divine, there is a LOT out there to guide you. You are ready to embark on your awakening... there are people to help. They will appear when you need them, and when you are ready to open your heart. Good luck, and welcome to the incredible journey!

No, because He created all things, including your ancestors. Its worth considereing where the idea of 'gods' came from. Way back, our ancestors saw that some things were not under their control. Terrible, frightening things, mainly the forces of Nature. Therefore they worshipped these forces to gain their favour, making sacrifices of various kinds ot them.

So there was the god of the wind, the sun, the seas, and so on, according to their beliefs. In effect a whole panoply of gods. Eventually, knowing that they had a leader of their tribe, they concluded that there must be a King God, who ruled the others. The first person in recorded history to come up with this idea was an Egyptian Pharoh, whose name I don't remember except that it began with 'A' , something like Anemenon. He said that there was only one god around 4 ,0000 BC.

This Pharoh also introduced the idea of an after life and the Ka(Soul), hence the building of the Pyramids to accomdate what they believed was the transfer of the Ka to this after-life.

God, is NOT, as many shrinks try to propose, an idea to escape from the fear of death, but to appease the forces of Nature.

Finally we are at the Old Testament, roughly about the same time that the Vedic writings appeared in India with Brahama, and Greek Mythology produced Zeus, all with the concept of a 'king' God.

In the Bible, these 'subordinate' Gods are called Angels. This is invariably transalated as 'messanger', but in the Original Hebrew, it could also be translated as Son of God. It is significant that these appear in the bible a total of 185 times (version dependant). So called because He created them. Jesus was termed as his only begotten Son, becasue He was 'begotten' of a human mother.

God exists. Instead of trying to find whether thats true or not, why not just open your heart to Him and you will find its true.

I'm sorry this is a long answer. I dislike them from others and I dislike feeling obliged to do it myself, but it seemed necessary.

It's quite possible there is no god. Sounds like you're on the right train of thought. This is why religion is bad, your thoughts about god are making perfect sense to you. They're no reason to believe. But religious guilt, the idea that if you don't believe in god or Christ that you are a bad person is instilled in us since birth. You have no obligation to believe in something with no proof, especially the crazy stories these people want you to buy into. Just be happy that you aren't one of the sheep.

ok.. mmm where 2 start... well the good thing is that your open minded and willin to take advice or answers... if i think of it, if there is or not, well if there isn´t then why would we exist? i dont its you know just mean less, and if you start with science and all of that, they always say that this happend cause of that, and that cause of something else, but always has to be reduce to a fist thing that was created that had just to be created by someone, then miracles....dont think of then as just super unormal things that are against nature, but simple things that happen to people but think of then as simple coincidence some times, things like and every day, when we could easily die any minute, how about the perfect structure of a human being how we work, everything, think about it and questions send me an e mail to charliee27@yahoo
good luck with all

Do you own research and thinking into this subject - then you will know what you know... and trust in your own inner feelings about it.
You have to be happy with what suits you...

Religions are 'cults' who have become established and part of mainstream society. They use brainwashing techniques so that their myths become accepted as being 'real' to their followers - the rest of the world don't believe and remain unconvinced.
All through your schooling you are taught to use reason and logic - and you have to discard these to believe in religious myths.
There may be some grain of truth in the myths - and it is that truth which will explain everything.

Sure, you have already accepted that everything came from nothing, life came from non life and that order arose on its own from disorder. None of these events jive with any physical laws and have never been observed or created in a lab. In any case. YOu think we are the product of billions of years of evolving and changing driven by no supernatural hand at any time. End result is an entire race of beings who have spent their entire history obsessed, universally, with the idea of God. Ever make a pie from scratch, say apple, and cut it open to find it full of Kiwi fruit. If it's not on one side of the equation, it should not be on the other. If God does not exist, then the biproducts of Godless evolution should not be so God obsessed.

The best answer I can give you for that is that the Bible is the inspired word of God, now think about it. There are I believe 66 books, all kinds of different authors who wrote each book, yet it never contradicts itself? Now can you name me another book that more than one man wrote that doesn't contradict itself in at least one way? Now with that being said, I encourage you to read John Chapter 3. The story of Nicodemus talking with Jesus. This will tell you what you must do to become a Christian.

I see no reason to believe in gods and lots of reasons not to.

The logical fallacies people spew when they try to convince you gods exist only shows that if there is a god he only wants ignorant people to believe in him. Somehow that seems less likely to me than the likelihood that no such gods exist.

It is most certainly possible there is no God. That's where the idea of Faith comes in. Belief in the absence of proof.
