Yes it is. Thanks, Midge, for sharing that.

After the death of John Paul II, I was listening to a radio program where different religious leaders were discussing the impact that JP II had in the world.
It was a little off topic, but one Evangelist Minister said that if Space Aliens came down to Earth, and asked to be taken to the Christian Leader, he would have taken them to see the Pope. Maybe this minister was trying to score political points or merely saying something nice about the deceased Pope, but nevertheless I believe there is some truth in what he said.

Midge, I find your question a little confusing, since I haven't seen Lutherans attacking Catholics on this site--unless I'm missing something.
This site certainly has plenty of raving anti-Catholic lunacy, mostly from people who have no idea what they're talking about. But most of the time they seem to be attacking you for things Lutherans agree with you on, like the Real Presence, Confession, or sacramental theology in general.
At any rate, not knowing for sure what you're referring to, I certainly hope you're not counting *me* as part of "the mess."

The Vatican has been working diligently to restore unity.
This started with the inclusion of observers at Vatican II.
There have been many ongoing dialogues with all churches; despite some of the animosity shown here.

Absolutely, it is always refreshing to see people respecting the beliefs of others. We had many non-Buddhists show up to support H.H. The Dalai Lama in Atlanta.

From a not-so-big Lutheran,
Bratwurst and kraut ist gut, hocks and tails are better!
A Lutheran does not get big drinking MGD, We need Schnapps und Doppel Bock (dark and thick like motor oil)!

p.s.: They are our brothers in Christ, why shouldn't we (although we still have our differences).

Yes, it is very refreshing. But I admit I'm a bit disappointed. I thought you were going to tell us about this giant Lutheran who was there to meet the Pope. Maybe the Pope sat in his hand or something.
Can you change it to be that? That'd be cool.

I think it is good to see charity and respect between Christian groups. I hope that we will see some of that at Yahoo! Answers.

i would see the Dali Lama if i had the chance.
I guess that shows that the people on this site don't represent the majority by no stretch of the imagination.

"....and there was a huge Lutheran....
....fat guy sitting in the front row, eating bratwurst and pounding down a Miller MGD..."
