I know this is a strange one!
I am not religious. I can't seem to get my head round the fact that there are so many religions, all with their own ideas of how to live, and what happens when we die. Surely, as human beings, we will all have the same experience of death, regardless of religion, and which god or various gods we worship whilst alive. Christianity for instance, is only just over 2000 years old, and people were living and dying well before that. Although I can't pin myself down to believe all aspects of one particular religion, I also have trouble with the notion that there's no life after death, as I just can't imagine us not having a soul, and something happening when we die. Any (sensible!) comments on the subject would be most helpful, as this is a subject that sometimes really bothers me, and any reassurance would be most comforting!

I believe in life after death because i was in a serious accident a few years ago and died on the way to the hospital i was gone for about 4Min's but they brought me back. Any way i keep telling people what i saw some people believe me and some don't. I saw myself lying on the stretcher in the back of the ambulance and herd them talking then all of a sudden i saw this light at the end of a tunnel. I felt so at peace and happy then my grandpa appeared beside me and told me it wasn't time yet and i felt a tugging and i was back in my body.
It makes me not afraid to die now as when my time comes i know i am going some where nice and i will have family waiting for me.

We do not all have the same experience of life, so I doubt we will have the same experience of death. I think that is why there are so many interpretations of truth/religions - we all percieve things differently, and we find things in common with others (which forms religious factions or groups).....

I also cannot imagine that whole 'no soul' thought. It may just be ego, but i can't think I don't exist.....or ever won't. In my experience, all religions hold some truth and lots of interpretation and misunderstanding. I like what Richard Bach said in Illusions when the character was asked 'I believe you are quoting Snoopy the Dog?' and he said...
"I will quote the truth wherever I find it." There are many paths and different ways to the next life - surely the doorways will also be different, as may be the places we come out on the other side?

Humans , like all other living things here on earth have a similarity - - we're either born , or spring from seed , we mature , we reproduce , we grow old , we die and make room for our offspring . All living things , plants nimals , fish , bugs , everything .
This is easy to understand , it's very believeable , it's natural , it's the way it should be . We are not much different in the scheme of nature , than the bug we step on .
Heaven , souls , gods , angels ,etc. make up a beautiful fairy tale . But not one tiny scrap of it will stand up under examination . We will be what we were before birth . Nothing could possibly be more natural or desireable .

Please read any materiels in regards to Jane Roberts the "Seth Materiels". This deals with the nature of reality.

Religions teach a distorted view and interpretation of reality based on "how some saw it".

Life is endless, ever expanding.

Life after death is initially based on a belief system; not all experience the same environments after the physical death, again, do check the listed sources. As emotion and beliefs Creat reality so ones true beliefs will be met headone after the "physical death". This is a temporary event and not long lasting as there are "guides" to bring one into reality.

Please read as much as you can on the sources provided, great insight and will help you step clear of religious squabblings that are as ongoing in Y/A as ever...

Let us say you are a 'truthseeker' and you want the real information about life and death, etc - without the religious crap that religions have...
Check out the source below.. it is 'The Spiritual Teachings' which is what you are after. It is discussed and you will get some idea what it covers, etc.
Christianity (and other religions too) don't give us accurate information at all. What we get from them - is nonsense. They proclaim themselves as knowing 'everything' and when they tell their version, it is nonsense. You know this because it is without reason and logic present, and you have to discard your common sense to believe in it. This is how you know it is nonsense, it does not make sense to you. Actually they are all cults, who promote themselves first, and brainwash you into believing their crap, and when you really believe in their crap, you have lost all sense of this reality... etc.

A lot of truths have been kept from the world, public, etc.
These do sound strange at first, but if you do your own research and thinking, etc you will find they are logical after all.

I am no way religious, I do not believe in any of it but the strange thing is I do believe that when we die only the body dies and the spirit leaves the body and ends up somewhere else, bit stupid thinking in some peoples minds but I can't believe that is the end, the universe is so vast no one can measure it but we have to believe in something don't we.

you do not have to be religious to understand the basic principlesof the world in which we live in we are all endowed with the ability to discern what is right and what is wrong and no matter where it comes from if we dispassionately question the validity we can always inwardly sense what is right and what is wrong

i digress for a reason. to your question you are right it makes no sense for us not to have a soul which would make the whole purpose of our life on earth a wasteful and meaningless charade. we are born on earth for a purpose and when that purpose is fulfilled as best as our souls have tried to we leave either to further our development in our worlds or to return to earth to try again.

consider the development of a child, during the early weeks of pregnancy the body in the womb is totally inactive as the body develops but immediately the soul is incarnated into the body the baby begins to move and react to stimulus this is enough proof for anybody about the exsistence of a soul quite distinct from the body

is the question you are seeking to ask really the purpose of our exsistence on earth and where we have come from and where we go from here, each soul will always be disturbed by his lack of understanding and comprehension of the purpose of its exsistence because for it to fulfil its purpose it has to know what this is

All Christians should look to the Bible for answers to questions like this.

(Ecclesiastes 9:5-6) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.

Check ANY Bible.'

There is NO activity of any sort by dead people.

They are as if they are asleep. In death.

(Psalm 13:3) Do look [upon me]; answer me, O Jehovah my God. Do make my eyes shine, that I may not fall asleep in death,

Just like there is no activity when we normally sleep.

The Bible simplifies it so we can understand.

Hi. I never used to believe in any one faith either, instead I believed in many things, such as heaven, reincarnation, fortune telling, astrology, palmistry, tarot etc. I could never understand those who adhered to one belief system when there are so many, and they can't all be right.

One day though, I had an experience that changed my mind. I was invited to my friend's baptism and went along, to support her, although I didn't believe any of her beliefs. During the service, the Holy Spirit stirred me inside, it's hard to explain, but it's like when you fall in love you just know. I just knew that God was calling me to respond to Him. As soon as the pastor invited anyone who needed Jesus to bless them, to please raise your hand, I raised my hand,,,,,it was the scariest thing I had ever done, considering I was there as a sceptical observer! As the pastor said 'bless you' I was immediately filled with the overwhelming love of Jesus, I knew I had met with God and that He was always there, I just hadn't had my eyes opened before. God calls us in different ways, my experience was awesome but not everyone is called like that. Some come to a slow realisation of God.

So having met God through Jesus, I started to look into the claims of Christianity. I was stuck on some of the things the Bible teaches but I continued to look for answers, and they do come, a bit at a time. I made a decision to follow Jesus anyway, even if I didn't understand all of it.

Now I know that Jesus is real, and can be trusted because I've had to trust him through some really difficult times, I can trust what His Word says, and it says that there is heaven and hell, and we get to choose where to go. This is awesome news. We deserve hell because we are so sinful, but Jesus died to pay the debt we owe and now we can choose heaven.

Christianity may be only 2000 years old, but the story of Jesus starts in Genesis. Those who have died before the coming of Jesus in human form are saved the same way we are, by faith in the saviour whom they were told would come some day. Those who never get to hear the message, will be judged according to their deeds.

There is a man called Ian Mccormack who died as a non believer and experienced hell , then experienced Jesus, and was a Christian when he came back. I will give you the link to his excellent website, on which you can listen to his testimony.
