True Christians don't blaspheme the Holy Spirit. On the contrary, He abides in us and guides us and teaches us daily, and is Himself the "downpayment" of God, a living proof within us that we are children of God through faith in Christ and heirs of eternal Life.

Mat 12:31 Because of this, I say to you, Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven to men, but the blasphemy concerning the Spirit shall not be forgiven to men.
Mat 12:32 And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, not in this age nor in the coming one.
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is attributing the works of God to Satan, giving him the glory for what God does. No Christian would do this, ever.

Yes, I guess it does mean that, but If you blaspheme the holy spirit, you're not a true Christian. Blaspheming the holy spirit does not mean swearing using holy words it means you deny the power of God, or as Suicide put it so well, "attribute the strength and works of the holy spirit to satan".

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit isn't what you suppose.
The breath of life in each of us and in every animal is the Holy Spirit.
Ecclesiastes 3:19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all [is] vanity.
One must first define blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. It is when we reject Gods forgiveness of us. We move from God not the other way around, in fact we are one with God when in perfect spiritual condition just as Jesus was but what we do instead is run like Adam did hiding from God in shame and arrogance for things God doesn't even care about. If God was concerned about Adam being naked he would have dressed Adam before the tree of knowledge event occurred.
Love one another!

TRUE Christians CANNOT go to hell. We are SEALED by the Holy Spirit of God at the time of our Salvation. We can GRIEVE the Holy Spirit, but we cannot do ANYTHING that causes us to lose our Salvation. That's a LIE from the pit of hell! God chastises His children, and that's another Biblical "litmus" test to reassure us that we belong to Him. When you sin, do you get away with it, or does the Holy Spirit CONVICT you?

According to Christian ideology ...
Blasphemy of the holy spirit means to attribute the strength and works of the holy spirit to Satan. However, you have to believe in both the holy spirit and Satan in order to "really mean it", so I guess it ONLY applies to True Christians™.

You could not be a true Christian, and have The Holy Spirit in you and lie about it, it would not be possible, It isn't possible, You would not really have Jesus Christ as your savior, you would only think you do, another trick of satan, to turn people in every direction but the only one they should be going in.
