Ok I read in a magazine that eating 50 grams of fiber (everyday) is good for you. But my question is "what foods are high in fiber?" I bought Fiber One bars and they only have 9 grams. Supposely, there are so many good health factors with fiber.

Please help.

Whole grains would be your number 1 source to get fiber. Like whole grain whole wheat bread, wheat thins, oat meal, they all have a lot of fiber. FRESH fruits and veggies would be your next best source, make sure they're all from the produce, and not canned. Canned goods are really bad for you and are packed full of sodium. Other then that, supplements from the vitmen section would be your best bet. There are also cereals(Check the box) That are made to be high in cereal, it will say on the front if its really high in fiber

50g is a bit much. Most nutritionists and doctors recommend 25-35g. Anything more than that and you run the risk of poor nutrient absorption, because the fiber binds all the healthy nutrients and carries them out of your body. If you still want to eat that many grams, try beans and other legumes, wheat bran, bulgur, quinoa, and barley.

9grams is a lot of fiber for one serving. Most foods that are high fiber only avergage 4-5. Eat lots of fruits and veggies and whole grains.
