Anywhere actually "out" in nature, such as a lake or camping in a forest. The fresh mountain air, I've never smelled anything better...the calm, reflective silence...the gurgling of a flowing stream, the birds singing, being able to see so many hundreds of stars on a clear night...its absolutely beautiful! Nothing made by human hands can compare!

The sound of water running through a brook on a sunny day..with a calm wind blowing the tops of the trees and the smell of light pine in the air,..birds chirping over head and a few small animals playing aloft in the bushes and leaves...and the fragrance of the wild flowers as i lay on my back and sigh..it's a wonderful life..... :)

When I hear the thunder roll, and see the lightning, and the rain slashing down it reminds me that the fate of the world is not in the hands of man.

When I think of the power of the sun to heat the Earth from millions of miles, I'm awed.

When I see a star twinkle and know that the twinkle occurred hundreds of years ago, I think, Oh!

Everything I see is in nature, including this computer and the building in which I sit. Still, the built environment too often sets me ill at ease and I find that water and living green things are my favorite places to go for solace. That, and the sounds of good lyrics set to a good melody.

See my avatar's picture.

Being there soothes and calms me.

Edit:
I mean being in the place where I can have this view. The actual island is not so nice due to the hundreds of seabird that live there. One word - guano.

The sound of rain falling on my roof at night. Wind blowing. Sitting by the bay watching the waves roll in and smelling that wonderful freshwater smell. Birdsong. The smell of fresh cut grass. Sand under my bare feet. Soft green grass - it feels so nice just to touch it! The smell of piney woods on a hot sunny day....mmmm! Spicy! Thunderstorms, the louder the better! Northern lights. Big fat fluffy snowflakes falling silently on a cold winter's night at the ski hill.

LOL I love nature, it is so beautiful that it's easy to forget what an ugly thing it can be sometimes (thinking of my friend who was chased and nearly caught by a mountain lion last week....).

Blackbird's evensong
My dog's snoring
the sound of waves
the sound of a brook
the scent of honeysuckle or night scented stock
the sight of a ring of yew trees
the autumn bonfire
the hills, trees and valleys
a hot summer's day watching dragonflies and pond skimmers near a pool
the sound of bees buzzing around the ivy
lilac fields in the South of France
the sound of my child laughing
the feel of the ocean on my feet
crickets chirruping at night-time
distant thunder and rain on the roof
ivy-flowers in bloom, the scent is heady in September.
the curlews and buzzards crying over the moor
rooks in the evening
the snowy silence
sunset, especially the 'gloaming' which sometimes makes a golden lantern of the haze above the woods or hills before twilight

But that blackbird's song, at twilight....that to me is music that fills my heart/spirit and makes me feel that all is well.

Summer thunder storms. Oddly enough I'm not that close to Thor. LOL But nothing is better then a good thunderstorm. The kind that the thunder rolls on forever. *sigh

Hearing the wind blow through the trees, watching the clouds float through the sky, smelling the freshness of rain. Sometimes I think I feel closer to God sitting outside then I do in church. Is that wrong?

Edit: Someone doesn't like nature I think, every answer is getting a thumbs down :(
