I thought it was because the dinosaur bones were "planted by Satan to trick us", or some nonsense like that.

It does...Leviathan, behemoth and unicorn are all mentioned and are thought to be certain kinds of dinosaurs from their descriptions. Dragons too. The word "dinosaur" is a recent term in the last couple of centuries for what people long ago called dragons. The Bible does not mention a lot of other animals....doesn't mean they don't exist. God created them all about 6000 years ago...sadly, many could not cope with the changes in climate after the flood or died from predators or starvation. Scientists have recently found a T-Rex fossil in Montana that still has soft tissue and blood cells in a thigh bone which indicates that it did not die millions of years ago. Duck-bill dino's in Canada too.
There are reports of creatures that appear to be living dinosaurs like the Loch Ness monster and the creature in Lake Champlain in Canada and others. American Indians have a legend of the "Fire Bird" which sounds like a pterodactyl-like creature. Ancient Chinese Emperors had an official "dragon keeper" to take care of dragons that they used to pull ceremonial carts. Dragon legends abound in many cultures.

The people who wrote the bible were very poorly educated . They had no knowledge of anything beyond their little piece of the world . I'm sure that none of them would have had any idea of what a dinosaur was.
If an extra large dinosaur bone was found , it would have been attributed to a giant . Superstition and run-away imagination ruled supreme .
There are a great many things that the bible ( and all other "holy" books ) does not mention , for the above reason.

Actually, there are some loose references found in Job (the oldest book) describing a "Leviathan" and "behemoth" that by their descriptions, very well could have been dinosaurs.
But the question is moot b/c the bible was never intended to be a Flora/fauna record. Just because monkeys were never mentioned, doesn't mean they didn't exist.

To a few answers, no the persons not sayiong we came from overgrown lizards. I've heard they all evolved into snakes from a christian, but maybe thats just me. But,"why isnt there still dinosaurs?" is more of an argument against creationism and not a statement about evolutuionism.
ACtually even in christian doctorine I believe it syas something about all snakes and lizards must from thenon crawl on their stomachs, so satan being a small dinosaur instead of a snakelike thing is an interesting theory.

Here's one:
Put us in the dense Amazon rainforest and ask why we are so ill-suited for that environment, yet the natives are perfectly suited.
