I'm thinking it should be large so that way when it passes under you nose you'll see how much more empty it looks and feel obligated to "fill it up."

Is this a good idea?

It needs to be like a piggy bank... you can put money in, but can't take it out without breaking it or taking the little stopper out of the bottom. Prevents stealing among the congregations.

Oh just a little saucer I should think would do for teething. As I remember I didn't even use a dish. I just......... Oh tithing, never Mind.

yes, it should be large.

when they pass it around i try to lift some money out (instead of putting it in), ... since after all, it is for the needy.

Actually, I like what my church does. They have a box attached to the wall and you just drop it in.
