Why must some of you answer questions in a hateful and demeaning manor. For example: A person asks for prayer and some of you answer God doesn't exist, why bother, etc. There is no need to even post things like that. If you don't believe in the Lord, leave the question alone. I have never been hateful, demeaning, or insulting to anyone on here, yet you feel you have the right to be that way towards me. We will never learn from one another with the attitudes in this section! And before you say it, yes there are some Christians on here that need a lesson in that too! Thanks for listening and God bless you all!

Exactly as I expected answers! This has nothing to do with differing opinions. You don't have to agree with me on anything. I am just saying that the insults and hate speech need to stop on all sides!

I am finding that many atheists read hatred where there is none. I have even been told that I am racist because I said that I believe false gods are really demons. I didn't say anything about race at all and was told that I believe that all races except the white race was going to hell (which I don't even believe that Jesus was white, so why would I think that He chose white people for anything?) When we tell someone about what we believe awaits them, we say it in love and compassion, not out of superioirity and hatred and exclusion, but that is what they see. They will never understand "God loves you and wants to save you from hell." All they see is "You are not as good as I am and are going to hell because of it." Even when that is not at all what we are saying!

Well, i feel its my duty to point out that you finished with god bless you all... which is directly comparable to us saying there is no god, therefore, i feel on some level you have answered your own question.

Though I don't answer the way you are saying, and its likely that you don't purposely promote arguement either, we are here, on some level, to discuss our views. Therefore, if someone is miserable because they broke a rule of their religion that had no negative rammafication on anyone, we feel the need to help reinstill some level of control over that persons life back to them. Its very sad for us to see so many people so down on themselves for no real apparent reason other than to follow a 2000 year old code.

First and foremost, if you don't want atheists to digress your religion, don't do the same to them. Do not say "god bless you all" when we do not believe in your god, its patronizing and exactly of the same manner as what you are complaining of. Hopefully we can all just get along, but that is a 2 way street.

Oh, please....this happens all the time and it comes not only from atheists but from Christians as well. Do you mean to tell me you have never seen a hateful or demeaning question directed at Jews from Christians or Muslims? If not, you haven't been paying attention. It's all bad and it's all stupid and it keeps happening anyway.

Trust me, there's people like that from all religions and beliefs. The ball can roll in many different directions, you know.

Those people you're talking about are probably little 14 year old kids who have nothing better to do. I only answer questions that are directed towards me, or that I can answer honestly. Maturity isn't limited to Christians, or atheists for that matter.

EDIT:
'Tawaen' also makes a great point. You should just ignore them, instead of trying to single out a group of people because of some bad apples. The Internet probably isn't a good reflection of what some people are like in real life.

You should know that atheism is just another religion. The atheists on here are religious zealots, they worship their god 'matter' and don't like any rivals.
If you believed such an illogical creed as the atheist one, you would also feel you had to be demeaning and insulting to others.

The atheists credo.

We believe in one 'Matter',
The almighty, the omnipotent
Maker of the whole universe
Of all that is seen and unseen
We believe in one Cosmic Egg
The only Son of Matter
Eternally begotten of Matter
Matter from Matter, Energy from Energy,
True Matter from True Matter
Begotten not made,
Of one being with Matter
Through the Egg all things were made
For us men and for our evolution
It formed itself in the heavens
By the power of the Energy it became incarnate into virgin space, and was made Egg
For our sake, it exploded in a singularity,
expanded, and expanded and became everything
In accordance with the ‘Big Bang’ story
It spread across the heavens and evolved into galaxies
It will continue in glory
Until the ultimate heat death

We believe in the Energy, the giver of life, which proceeds from the Matter and the Egg
With the Matter and the Egg it is worshipped and glorified
It has been revealed by the atheists
We believe in one, secular humanist and Darwinian faith
We acknowledge one, atheistic viewpoint for the education of all.
We look for the oblivion of the dead
And the destruction of the world to come.
Amen

Is it hateful when I tell my two year old that there is no monster under his bed? If something does not exist, and there is no reason to believe a deity does, why is it not a kindness to remove that errant thought from another person? If you have some actual examples of hateful remarks, perhaps I could comment. Nothing in your question points to such an example.

You are on an open forum. Many different people view what you write and many of them will not be of the same belief as you are. If you only want to talk to Christians, you can go to church for that. Or pick up the phone. Don't expect to come here and only hear what you want to hear. That's ridiculous.

Oh right, and we never see Christians responding to questions about other religions, taking the opportunity to proselytize.

This is NOT a message board. It's a Q&A forum. Prayer requests aren't even questions.

Just as some Christians are jerks, so are some atheists.

Don't point fingers, it's rude. Just ignore the jerks.

Edit: And if you know some Christians are rude, why do you feel the need to point out the rude atheists? Why not just ask why some PEOPLE in general are rude?

Why do so many Christians do the same thing when questions about Catholicism, Islam, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses and other religions come up?
Same reason.
