K, let me explain. I am going to the local high school, after a year of public school. Since I moved back out to Indiana I got refilled with the Holy Ghost and have been ON FIRE for God. Well I have a few friends there... but there, well without judging them, they steal sometimes for fun, and I mean they just go a little to far sometimes, I'm cool with egging houses and harmless pranks, but they also swear a lot and have sex. How can I witness to them, not look like a hypocrite, and still fit in with them at school? Usually when I hang out with them I fall and backslide. How can I separate myself but not Isolate myself, and how can I still fit in with them but be a witness?

You sound exactly like me about four years ago...personally what I did was not swear and have sex...I still hung out with them, but i wouldn't swear or sleep around...also try bringing them to your youth group or church activities. Make sure you don't substitute friend time for God time. Most of my friends saw a difference in the way I acted and I was a witness just in that way. Also be informed and know answers to their questions they may ask about Christianity.
P.S. I also took part in activities such as pranks and eggings...be careful with that

Now is the time to be the leader and not the follower. You are in the world but not of the world. You must totally depend on the Holy Spirit that's in you to give you the things to do and say. Pranks and egging houses is foolishness, but God will take the foolish things to confound the wise. So when God changes what use to be done by the foolish then everyone will know that it was only God that could truly change them.

Well u do know the bible says how u should be no part of this world just as jesus was no part of this world. I had that same problem with my friends cuz they was too worldy but in the end with a lil talk; from my bible teacher I jus had to let them go I mean we are still friends but we don't really hang together because they are so worldy and when I'm withthem I become jus as they are. So my advice is to back off from them when they get too wordly for u. An u will find good times to witness to them without being too pushy, u jus gotta take the oportunity when it comes.

You cannot have the Holy Spirit and lose it, you have it or you don't, Before you egged houses you would know that it is wrong, you wouldn't go along with a crowd, because The Holy Spirit would of convicted you and let you know that it is wrong, sometimes we think we are, but if we are still acting with the ways of the world it is not possible, we have to turn from that, We have to Love Christ, and ask would Jesus do this, the whole purpose is to make us more in the image of Jesus Christ, you need to get away from them, if they want to do this stuff, they will pay penalties,
I ask you what is more important, a little off-beat fun now, which wouldn't be if you had The Lord or
Eternal salvation with God, what is more important in your eyes, I pray you find the right answer.

Justin: Scripture is very clear on this subject:

Do Not Be Yoked With Unbelievers
14Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15What harmony is there between Christ and Belial[a]? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?
You have a simple choice here-stay with them & continue to backslide, (& BELIEVE ME, YOU DO'T WANT TO DO THIS!), or seperate yourselves from them.
As for isolation, if you don't have one already, get involved in youth groups, or young adult groups at a good Bible believing church.
There are plenty out there.
Also, volunteering is a good option-I've done years of it, & there is NOTHING more rewarding, (short of a relationship with Christ, of course:)).
These guys are bad news. Tell them that you simply cannot be with them, because of the way that they talk & act.
This is NOT judging them-it is doing what you KNOW is right!
I know fitting in at high school is important, but your relationship with Christ is MORE important!
Best wishes!

I would not hang out with them, even to be egging houses. You sometimes have to be a little bit of a loner. Pray/meditate a lot, and look for others to relate with, who are not heading for a future in our prison system.

So you condone defacing random and unprovoked people's homes with raw eggs, but you call harmless consentual sexual activity between two friends of yours "going too far"?
Quit thinking that your religion has to be everybody else's. If these "friends" bother you that much, find new ones.

You are in a tough spot, but I think you would be making a mistake in trying to convert them to your ways of belief and thinking.... but there's nothing wrong sharing with them when they "cross the line". Make sure the first and foremost, you honor yourself. I'm sorry but that's the best advice I can give...
