The afterlife holds no superiority over this physical life; there is no ranking structures, only truth.
Consider this life as important as any you will ever experience as each is by personal-choice(s).
Realms one may enter upon physical death are based on beliefs and expectation in this lifetime as it is all Karmic in nature.
