No, it's not. You've cited the fundamentalist view. Many believers don't subscribe to this doctrine at all. You're making generalizations like the fundies do and like most generalizations, it's untrue.

Actually this is not a fundie view, well we do believe that the Gospel is true and full of Miracles, but Jesus was God so he can perform these miracles. Hell is a place of seperation from God and is full of suffering, and it isn't that non-believers go to Hell, but rather, that people would rather spend eternity in Hell or seperated from God, then submit to the will of God. As Milton wrote of Satan, on the fall of Satan, "It is better to reign in Hell then to serve in Heaven"
personally I have surrendered to serve the Almighty

The world we live in today is our Hell. JESUS is coming back to destroy the wicked and the earth will be renewed. JESUS will reign for a thousand years, that sounds like Heaven to me. And yes, you must accept JESUS as your Lord and Saviour, to be granted everlasting life. After all, HE gave up his life for us, the least we should do is acknowledge that fact. As for the bible being unbelievable, well truth is stranger than fiction. Miracles are still happening today, they just don't generate the same newsworthy excitement in our culture as say, Britney Spears. Peace be with you.

Why is it so hard to believe in God? Many have asked this question- but Christianity cannot be summed up in one sentence. Miracles do happen today depending on who your asking.
Why not believe? It makes alot of sense to me to follow God. It makes far more sense then denying the existence of God.

Not all Christian are the same. But, a good and a moral God, would not condemn anyone to eternal torture, or eternal hopelessness, but would provide a hard spiritual rehab program, for those with the negative moral character, requiring it.
