Generally with baked cakes and fudges (brownies being somewhere between the two) cooking causes fairly irreversible chemical changes. Trying to re-bake, or adding water, will not roll back the process of cooking that has already taken place, If your brownies were more cake-like than fudge-like ( Usually this means more egg was used) , and have not been carbonized, steaming the result, as with rolls, might soften them somewhat, but it is doubtful the result will be the same as proper baking times and temperatures would have produced. Best just to prepare a new batter and moderate your baking times and temps based on your experience with the first. Altitudes above sea level usually change the times and temps needed to properly prepare most baked goods, so scrutinize your recipe, or variation tables to see if this is something you need to account for in your area. Most published recipies quote times and heats for cooking at sea level, which may need to be altered if you live in the mountains, for example. also, It is often a good Idea to mount an oven thermometer at the shelf height you use just to be sure your oven temperatures are actually what the oven dial says they are. This needs doing only once, just to satisfy yourself that your oven is accurate, if it isnt, you may find it usefull to leave the thermometer in, and go by that to set oven temperatures instead of your oven dial.
Also, if your product is sticking heavily to your pan, try flouring the bottom of the pan well before adding in your mixture. If you plan on doing a lot of baking, there are canned sprays that contain a mixture of flour and oil for just that purpose. These ars very nice, as flouring pan bottoms is often messy and inconvienent if you bake a lot.

Sadly you can't add water, but you can make great rum balls with them, just break up the brownies into a bowl and mix with electric mixer. Then add enough rum to moisten the crumbs so you can roll balls.
A nonalcohol cookie ball can be made by doing the same thing but substitue peanut butter for the rum and roll the balls in powdered sugar after.

bake them about 5 - 6 minutes less than the box says and take them out and let them sit for the five or 6 minutes in the hott pan.....you can also use olive oil instead of vegetable oil to m ake them heavier and more moist
(if they are already made not much you can do but put em in the microwave before you want to eat one for about 10 secs)

Chop the brownies out of the pan with a knife. Scoop the hunks into a dessert cup and layer with ice cream of choice and hot fudge. Mmm...

Try putting slices of bread on top.Make sure it is soft then cover and leave it in there awhile . I do this with cookies alot and it works. It should work for brownies too.

sorry-there is no good fix for hard brownies-just microwave them when you want to eat them. Try putting lots of frosting on top to conceal the hardness...or tell everyone that you made brownie candy!
