"The White House severely edited congressional testimony given Tuesday by the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the impact of climate change on health, removing specific scientific references to potential health risks, according to two sources familiar with the documents.

Dr. Julie Gerberding, director of the Atlanta-based CDC, the government's premier disease monitoring agency, told a Senate hearing that climate change "is anticipated to have a broad range of impacts on the health of Americans."

But her prepared testimony was devoted almost entirely to the CDC's preparation, with few details on what effects climate change could have on the spread of disease. Only during questioning did she describe some specific diseases that likely would be affected, again without elaboration."

Why do you think the White House is trying to edit global climate change science again?

Because they know they can grt away with being caught lying or meddling with the truth (Iraqi WMDs etc.), but health is one of those touchy subjects, in the UK at least, and health combined with global warming....

For the Texan and his track record on climate change that's just a bit uncomfortable. I'm sure he knows he has has his own tipping point, delay it for 2 years he's home free..

Because, constitutionally, the White House is the head of the executive branch of government, of which the CDC is a part. There are Presidential elections every four years to determine who sits in the White House. If Hillary is elected, the CDC will be testifying as to how badly this country needs socialized health care. That's how the United States government works. Get used to it. It's a departure from the days of Thomas Jefferson's scientific research as Vice President of the United States, when scientific discovery was not yet viewed as a political tool. In light of the political leverage provided by global warming theories, those days are unfortunately long gone.

I remember the black&white science fiction movies, when the 'police' and the 'mayor',when asked what to do ,and what to tell the public, always said ,"Tell'm nothing! We don't want to start a PANIC!" It seems that's whats going on today. We only have ONE planet to live on,if it goes,so do we! I think the panic WILL be spreading soon! The truth can't be hidden forever!

In a way, the white house is short sighted, not looking beyond their nose, they would like the future government to handle what's in the future because they are too busy making what they want at present. Its so lucrative now that there's very little time to spare for such problems as global climate change.

Because they don't want us to know the true extent of the problem and therefore realize how they've totally sold us down the river to put money in big businesses pockets and the hell with peoples health and the environment and the viability of future generations.
