Sounds like CF Folks: http://www.cffolksrestaurant.com/
Here's a review: http://www.washingtonian.com/restaurantreviews/1368.html
Be aware that they have different items each day, and since Middle Eastern is Friday I would assume the lamb sandwich might only be available then.
Enjoy your visit :)

Restaurants come and go pretty fast in the DC area. I don't know where you'll be able to get such a sandwich, as I don't eat lamb, but you might want to check out Skewers, a Middle Eastern place on P Street between 16th and 17th streets. Another Middle Eastern place, Zorba's, is on 20th Street near the Q Street exit of the Dupont Circle Metro station, but I'm not a big fan of them.

Hi,
There was a sandwich shop on Connecticut Ave NW and "Q" Street NW called, "Wrapworks".
Unfortunately, despite its popularity, Wrapworks went out of business about two years ago.
The space Wrapworks was occupying is now occupied by an upscale cafe and lounge called, "Circa at Dupont Cafe". They do serve delicious sandwiches and salads there.
Circa at Dupont cafe is located at:
1601 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20009
Telephone: 202-667-1601
Thanks and Enjoy.

I'm sorry that you were bored. May a I ask what in particular bored you? Was it the Museums, the galleries, the national landmarks or perhaps the historical sites... It was truly fortunate that your hotel had something so unique as a swimming pool. I am not sure where you are from, but here is a travel pointer in case you find yourself travailing to another Pep Rally (Since I believe it is safe to say, by reviewing your question that there are no spelling Bees or Grammar Rodeos in your immediate future). Lots of hotels around the nation, in fact the world, have swimming pools aka "Cement ponds" so always try to book your stay at these so you will not be bothered or bored by anything remotely educational....
