You're right--this doesn't seem complicated until religion gets involved.

I think that you do have a point, but to me hurting yourself also falls under that. Other sins? I think that these are an extension of the first you mentioned. It is like laws, you have a few basic laws, then the lawyers (Church officials) get involved and make things more convoluted and complicated, adding new versions of that law/sin so they can extract more money/penalties etc. to line their pockets/coffers!

Do you have any idea all the things that had to be meticulously in place so that you would be here, in this place in space and this point in time.?.. and all the things that have to be in place for others? some of those things or many of those things depend on your presence and your state of mind, so yes, if you hurt yourself you hurt everyone. That's a sin in my book.

I like Heinlein, too, but I try to attribute properly when I quote him.
I agree partly. After Christ, pretty much everything that involves sin is something that causes harm. Some sins, though, do harm only the one who commits them. Try it this way: if you had a son or daughter who was deliberately harming him/herself, would you just say "well, that's stupid" and walk away, or would you try to stop them or talk them out of it? Wouldn't them harming themselves harm you, too?

Disagree completely.
Sin consists of those things - deeds, words, thoughts - which are against God's will and desire. Some things which you may think don't "hurt other people" are an abomination in God's eyes.

Agree.
So-called sins which include masturbation, homosexuality, and various other "uncomfortable" actions (to the devout) generally hurt no one but those whose beliefs are challenged by the very act or the thought of it.

Virtuous deeds towards others automatically reaps your "self" a benefit, therefore, logically speaking, if you harm others, you're harming yourself, if you treat others with altruism and compassion, you are doing yourself much "good". All things are interdependent upon other things... ALL things.
