My tooth, as if any of you are reading this have seen my other post about my tooth, i have felt it today a lot while i was in school while i was bored, i felt what seems to be a crack, my tooth doesn't have any sensativity to the cold or hot foods, just when i bite down on it, when i don't bite down i don't feel pain, so when i eat or anything it causes some sort of pain, but not so much pain that i wanna just yank it out, so anyways i was thinking it could be a cracked tooth becuase i have felt what seemed to be a crack in it would i need a root canal done or could they just yank out the tooth? it's one of my very back teeth

From what you have described, it sounds like you have a cracked tooth. It could also be a broken or loose filling that you are feeling or you may have possibly bit down on something the wrong way and bruised the surrounding tissue of the tooth. Patients usually don't "feel" the crack, but they "do" with a broken filling. See your dentist soon while you only need a crown and possible build up. If you wait and continue biting with this tooth, it is possible to fracture it further either reaching the nerve or into the furcation making the tooth non-restorable. You would either need a root canal along with a crown or an extraction. So the longer you wait the more extensive it may become.

You may just need a bite adjustment. If the tooth has a substantial crack, you would know it. It would be sensitive to hot and cold, pressure, percussion etc.
Have your dentist check it. It is better to have it looked at when the symptoms are minor, than waiting to see if they become full-blown.

I had this same thing happen to me and I had a horrible cavity in it that they ended up having to do a root canal on. I wouldnt suggest waiting to long like I did or you will be in horrific pain!Ouch...Good luck to you!

Get to the dentist and find out what the problem is before it becomes infected.
