There is no doubt they are there but they do a very good job of staying under the radar so the world isn't exactly treating them as breaking news. The rest of the answers here seem to have missed the word 'ancient' in your question. I have heard from very reliable sources there are yogis hundreds of years old even living in the Himalaya mountains who silently use their powers to help the world find peace and enlightenment. In particular there is repeated mention of one Mahavatar Babaji who is believed to be living for nearly a thousand years. His sightings are rare and only to very advanced yogis.

According to Bhagavad-gitä, a sadhu (holy man) is a man in Krishna consciousness. A sadhu never lives comfortably by teaching to others some yoga postures [ just to keep the body fit], some speculation mantras and some cheap meditation, just for the sake of having better standard of living for sense gratification.
Real sadhu is one who cut this material attachment of attraction for enjoyment from this material world and teach people how to love God, Krishna by chanting the mahamantra the chanting the name of God: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Räma, Hare Räma, Räma Räma, Hare Hare. And surrender unto Him, in order to be saved and stop the suffering all together and bring all the society back home, back to Godhead.

As explained in the Srimad-Bhägavatam, the Siddhas are the minor demigod inhabitants of the Siddha planet (Siddhaloka), the heavenly planet whose inhabitants possess all mystic powers.

World is protected, guided and helped by many realized beings in body and with out body.

Such beings are mostly in India but almost in all parts of the world in lesser numbers.

Meditate regularly and you may see them in your meditation.
