The airports are fine, as the fires are way south. However, you will notice the increased traffic congestion on the roads.

LAX is not near any of the fire areas, and is operating normally. To travel from LAX to Huntington Beach / Laguna Beach you would be using I-405 and Pacific Coast Highway, neither of which are affected by the fires, but if you want to make certain call the Caltrans road condition hot line at 1-800-427-7623.
Just curious. For the reception did you request the Chicken or the Fish?

The fires really aren't near LAX, and the only highways that were closed were down in San Diego. I believe they're open again. Don't worry too much. For the most part, the fires are up in the hills where the dry brush is. Call your airline to make sure.

Airports are all open, no worries there. No airport closed due to this set of fires.
None of the freeways near those beaches were closed this time, either, so no worries.
Have fun.

Malibu is pretty far from LAX. And it is nowhere near San Diego. Most places are unaffected. I was in Santa Monica the other day which is semi-close to Malibu and I had no problems.
Orange County should be extremely safe.

Where you are going is going to be ok, there aren't any freeway closures in that area, and you arent in any risk of the fires anyway.
