A rear end collision is the fault of the guy who hit you. It shouldn't affect your rates.

If the person who hit you is found at fault, and pays for the damage, it won't affect your insurance. If they are found at fault and don't pay the damage, and your insurance has to pay, it could affect your rates. Ask your agent.

if accident wasn't your fault then preminum wouldn't change and no claim bonus is intact
the person who caused accident will have to forefit thier no claims bonus as you would claim on their insurance their rates will increase to cover claim
