I like to imagine that some day all rifts will be healed. Do you think there really is a happy place somewhere over the rainbow? Or is this just wishful thinking on a human's part? Cynics and atheists try to be gentle this time!

What I am asking is: do you ever think we will realize true peace--here or in some "hereafter"? I have no answer to this, just my own human constructs and hopes. I do realize that peace of mind is an inside job. Hope I have made myself more clear to you though. The hymn and the song both came to me this morning. Thanks for some good answers.

About the only thing I'm NOT cynical about is my eternity -- although God drives me crazy sometimes here on Earth, His most important promise, that of Heaven for those that call on His name, will remain unbroken.

Have a great night!

The human race is not capable of happy circles or getting anywhere near what Star Trek teaches. Apparently I'm a cynic but as long as man is capable of greed, pride, anger, hate and jealously there will be no perfect happy place. Although I have attempted to find a happy place while sucking my thumb when my bf cooks.

I think what you're referring to is "the other side," and yes, I not only belive, but I KNOW that once we leave this world there is so much more, and it's all love.

There are other races out there in the Universe living life very differently than we do here on Earth. I think that this world is meant to be the way it is, so those that incarnate here can learn something that they have decided they need to learn. All is as it should be, and that's the way it will always be, IMO.

This is just wishful thinking on a humans part.

This is the life you have been given and the only one that should concern you. If you live this life to the best of your ability, then you have lived a good life.

I'm not trying to say that you cannot find spirituality for yourself. I think that there is much room in this world for that kind of calm. I just don't believe that religions provide much spirituality. On the contrary, I believe that religion tends to divide, especially between those who are part of a church and those who are not.

I will put it to you gently. There will always be a rift in humanity. there has never been peace and there never will be. Somewhere someplace over the rainbow people will be killing each other.

I believe when the lights go out, we're in the dark. Beyond that I'll need convincing; and probably won't happen till the lights go out.
