The colors indicate the quantity (%,mg/l ,etc) of the particular item for which the test is done. For the urine ,various tests are being carried out ? Say, for sugar test of urine, blue color indicates no sugar in the urine whereas red color indicates sugar is going out,and needs medical attention. This Color chart can be found on the label or the inside Urine test kit for particular test whether sugar, pregnency etc etc.

The colors on the urine testing strip indicate the different concentrations of sugar in the urine.
for example, the dark brown shade indicates highest concentration(++++),whereas light blue indicates nil sugar in the urine. There are other shades inbetween indicating 1/2,1,1 1/2 percent sugar. All these levels are printed on the bottle containing the strips and it is easy to match the colors with it & know the sugar levels in urine!

It indicates the temperature of the specimen. Nothing else. Many people try to cheat by using someone else's urine. If it's not at or near body temperature the strip will be an automatic indication of cheating.

If you are talking about the pee test for drugs (screening for a job), we use a really good one. The different stripes are different types of drugs like opiates, speeds, hallucinogens, etc.. They must be within a very tight color range. If they vary in the slightest, they are sent away to the lab for further and precise drug use verification.
