I normally don't do this, but I have to make an exception because this particular person has delivered one too many "God is gonna fry you!" comments for my liking.

Mike, you are not the Wrath of God, nor do you know what God thinks. Can you do us all a favor and let your god do what ever it's going to do, without your intervention? Same goes for the rest of you that think the same way he does. If you feel the need to threaten people with your favorite deities wrath, you appear as though you have no faith that your deity can stand up for itself without your intervention. If your deity is real, it can take care of itself. If it isn't, then yes, you probably do need to continue to threaten others because obviously it can't do it by itself. Have a great day!

My mom is religious, my father isn't. i become not raised overly religious yet while i become a infant my sisters and that i went to church with my mom. besides the incontrovertible fact that we never talk approximately it now, looking lower back that's person-friendly to make certain the church homes we frequented have been chosen greater for the individuals/ecosystem than faith. i'm an atheist yet I haven't any regrets regarding my journey with faith. i become youthful yet even then I knew something did not sense the excellent option and that i took each thing with a grain of salt. in fact i discover i'm greater useful waiting to appreciate faith now by way of fact of that exposure. yet there is one reminiscence that stands proud while looking lower back and that's my first guitar instructor. He become not from any of the church homes I ever attended; he had an evangelical temperament. the way he spoke to me approximately faith become out of line. The picture and extremist perspectives he subjected me to weren't suited for my age. as a effect of seeing this myself, I surely have themes with the way faith is so in many circumstances compelled upon infants. Being 'born-lower back' so youthful isn't something greater beneficial than indoctrination.

Heroes save people from a burning building or other such disasters. Heroes take a childs hand and teach them to make the world a better place. You get the idea

I do believe this, at times. But there are also atheists that aren't heroes, but instead very angry and frustrated individuals that just want all the theistic madness to end.

If being a hero is reiterating, recycling, and reveling in the creativity of the same trite answers to the the same boring questions minute after minute, day after day- then YES, all of the Atheists on Y!A are Heroes... Big ol' heroes who could probably use their intellect for something other than annoying those who won't change their minds anyway...

Wow...3 thumbs down!! Brutal! Why? Did I offend thee? Sorry guys, but on most issues concerning God or the lack thereof, I'm with you. But if any of you so called Atheists think yourselves heroes for your views, than you are way, WAY more deluded than any of the "fundies" you so mirthfully antagonize. Get over yourselves and your "edgy" "anti-establishment" views. Most of you on here as lame as #R$% anyway and couldn't defend yourselves in a real debate if your lives depended on it. Come on....more thumbs down please!!!

I think those who teach, and what I can understand, like the Dalai Lama's teachings, is simply virtuous teachings. It would be far too unkind to label "religious fundies" as "zombies". I've met a few and they're far from "zombie", some are just as virtuous as what I see a lot of Buddhist lamas teach.

Do I get to wear the Captain Atheist costume?

2007-10-24 06:58:53 · answer #10 · answered by Anonymous · 9 0

no,
I would see atheist as people who are doing what they think is right, nothing more nothing less

if they are bothering religious types to rescue them, then they have negated their right to non-interferrence from the religious groups.

don't open a can of worms here,
