We have a young cat and she has a re-action to Frontline, being an anti flea treatment commonly used. Help needed to find a herbal preparation, and I understand there is a company called "Deans" in East Sussex, but cannot find it on the web.

You should be very careful when getting flea medicine for your cat!! I took my cat to the vet and he had fleas. She gave me Advantage (its expensive) but she said that you have to be very careful what you put on a cat. She said that it could end up killing the cat and not the fleas. Please do research on the product first.

Loads of crooks sell stuff like this! Don't expect herbal stuff to work - fleas are TOUGH, you can't just kill them with stuff you can buy off the shelves.

Use a different product from a vet - Revolution, Advantage and Advocate are all different chemicals. Highly unlikely your cat would have a problem with them all. If she does, you're screwed because they're the only thing that work! Well, not screwed, you could get the Program injection or Program tablets - they only sterilise fleas, but they go some way to controlling a flea problem.

You didn't get the Frontline online by the way did you?

It is unusual for your cat to react to frontline,I would advise to try another vet product rather that herbal as sometimes these may not always be as effective.Ask your vet for stronghold this does fleas and roundworms and help to flea your house hold as well.It is a Prescription only med-So ur cat will have to have seen the vet in the last Year.It is applied the same as frontline -Onto the back of the neck every month.

Excellent worm tablets are called Milbemax they are very small in size to easy to give to the cat. Also it is a multi wormer so kills all types of worm that the cat might have. Flea treatment Frontline is as good as any it can be bought from the vets, on the Internet and even a lot of chemist shops sell it now so very easy to buy.

Dr. Foster and Smith has a natural product called DeFlea. A flea comb also works. I can't think of the name of the herb that also works.

Have a look on eBay, there's a few listed on there. Apparently herbal treatments aren't very good, but I haven't tried one so I can't comment.
