Laptop. Here's why:
1) More useful (you can not only play games but surf the net, write docs, etc.)
2) Portable (you can only use your PS3 at home)
3) You don't have to worry about your laptop losing the console wars and bombing (which it looks like the PS3 is going to do)

If I had a choice, I would choose the PS3, even though I already have a 60GB PS3. Like one other guy said, you can surf the web on your PS3, and play some of the best games on the market.
For me, it would depend on what type of laptop. The only laptop that I would choose over a PS3 would be the Sony Vaio laptop, with the Blu-Ray DVD player, and that laptop is around $2000- $3000 dollars. But other than that, I would rather take the PS3.

I'd choose a laptop, only because the PS3 is not worth the money right now. There are way too many problems with it, and not enough good games for it. Especially with Sony talking about removing the backwards compatibility chip to reduce costs, I see absolutely no reason to buy a PS3. Buy an XBox 360 or a Nintendo Wii if you want a gaming system. If you want to play games on a computer, I suggest a desktop, as they usually have more memory and better graphics. However, if the choice is only between a PS3 and a laptop computer, I'd go with the laptop every time.

It depends on what you will do with the PC. If you are into gaming and that's what you like then get the PS3...it's essentially a gaming computer. If you want to do computing and gaming get the laptop. The laptop will always require more effort and software to maintain and upgrade.

Oh boy its quite simple for me , I will get a laptop. Because think, you can surf the net , play games, pay bills, chat, watch movies, etc etc
with PS3 there is not a whole lot of choices.

I would get a laptop because if you buy the playstation, you always have to buy the games, you can't do anything with the playstation 3 itself and with the laptop, at least you can do your homework ^_^

sounds like there are a lot of xbox fanboys in the house, get a ps3 because, you can serf the net with the ps3 just like a computer, and play sweet *** games, get the ps3, seriously
