I had a dream where I was following my mom and little sister back to the place we were staying, I didn't know how to get there alone, and then this guy started to chase me and threaten me saying he'd hurt and rape me, and I kept calling out to my mom for help but they didn't wait for me and were gone. Then I kept running from him and he caught up and actually started hitting me, then I got away and finally found my way back. I told my mom all about it but she didn't seem to care at all. What does this mean?

It is a dream of insecurity

this guy = fear
being chased = being criticized
saying to hurt and rape you = low self esteem
mom not caring at all = seeking for support.

Actually you are seeking for your mom's understanding for your sense of insecurity. Projecting being chased by the guy symbolizes there is some criticism you received in reality from people you don't trust. Your mom is a key in the dream because deep down you are seeking support and understanding from her and perhaps you don't get it and that is why you vent out this dream.

Are you hiding something from your mom? Something like your in a relationship and she doesnt know or approve? And is he emotionally/mentally abusive? Or is it just one of your friends? What I am trying to say. you feel cut off from your mother...you feel that she doesnt care about something but the thing is, she may not be able to see it. She may not know how your feeling? How is your relationship with your mom currently? Are you close? Or are you not close, and that is why you feel this way? Your feeling cut off. Work on your communication with your mom dear, that is the best I can do. Someone is abusing you in one shape or form and your feeling the need to share it with your mother, to have her comfort you...at least this is what I am getting from all of it.

Sounds like you and your mom have some trust issues. You are afraid she won't be there for you when you really need her.

You feel unprotected and like there's a lack of emotional security in your family of origin.
