It is possible but not easy.
After all, they are human beings.
Friend is someone you can depend on in the time of need. If this is happening time and again, an emotion or an attachment can be felt which cannot be hidden for a long time. Then the body starts demanding..Wether you are able to control it or not, you will feel it.

YES!! I have plenty of guy friends that are just friends. I will admit that until recently it was hard for me not to crush on guys that I started hanging out with, but as time comes and you experience more and mature more you begin not developing feelings for someone so quickly and they can become good friends.

I often ask that question, and honestly it seems like no. Just because when you become really close with a guy and your just friends and vice versa for guy its really hard not to feel something for each other. But i also think that if you don't act on those feelings than you could remain good friends but sometimes thats really hard.

Maybe. But if you are "too close" to the other person, and it's an environment which could lead to "something happening". It could be too many hughs, kisses, if you are drinking together, and often, or more. If you are single, nothing wrong, all options are open. But if you are dating somebody else, then, I would not be "too close" to friends of the opposite sex, because it could create some friction, or lead to temptation. If you are dating someone, that person should be your preferred friend or best friend choice of the opposite sex, no one else.

I have a ton of guy friends. Some are married, some are single, some are gay, some are straight. It is not true that you will always start to have a crush on them. Some of my guy friends are not physically attractive to me, so I wouldn't date them. We have fun, go to movies together, but it doesn't go beyond that.

Yes. Difficult but it can be done. Two of my best friends are girls; I have never tried anything with them and they have never tried anything with me. It very cool to have a girls opinion on things and to see it from all sides. My ex's however never like it and my gf now is warming up to it. The old stigmata of guys & girls cannot be friends is breaking down... but very slowly.
