Catholics are Christians! So, she is not a Catholic, do you love her? Does she love you? Does it bother either of you that you don't belong to the "exact" same religion? If you two love each other and enjoy each others company, then having different religions is not a bad thing. Enjoy life - enjoy each other!

A Catholic believes in the same things as a Christian but a Christian doesn't believe in everything the Cathloics do. Catholics believe in praying to Mary, the saints etc.... while Christians don't. Catholicism is really big on tradition. If you don't understand your beliefs and what being a Catholic is, then maybe you aren't really such a Catholic. You may have been born into it but you are not a practicing Catholic so then you have no worry about your gfs beliefs. Figure out your own first.

Since I was brought up in the Catholic church and then became a Christian 9 years ago, I can answer you with the most sincere response, NO! It is not a bad thing.

After I married my Lutheran wife, I started attending the Lutheran church and found it to be similar, yet more positive. The service is similar, except for kneeling, and the communion similar, yet not all Christian churches receive communion every week. (My church is the 1st and 3rd Sundays)

The most important thing to understand is that both groups worship the same God, believe that He sent Jesus to save us from our sins and sacrificed His only son for us. We all believe that Mary was Jesus' mother and we believe in disciplining ourselves and our children with the 10 commandments.

Of course, there are many more similarities and only a few more differences. But the important thing that we both (all) need to accept is Jesus, as our Lord and Savior. There is nothing bad about that, not at all. Keep it positive no matter what church you attend and you will always be an inspiration and witness to others....just what God wants from us!

Peace to you always

I believe the main difference is that Catholics go to confession and non Catholic Christians typically confess their sins to God through prayer and ask for forgiveness that way. Also the emphasize in most Christian denominations is on Jesus and God and I believe that Catholics focus more on the Virgin Mary and saints. I don't believe it's a big enough difference to cause stress on a relationship.

Catholics are Christians the only difference is how they worship. And few beliefs. But basically the belief is Christian. Dont know why it would be a problem unless both or one of you is a conversion fanatic and incapable of accepting the differences.

I would be if you ever decide to marry. If you decide to have children that could create problems for both of you. I am catholic and my children would have to be catholic too. And their are some differences. The children cannot belong to both denominations, therefore a decision will have to be made as to which they will belong to. There, you might run into trouble. Have all of this well thought out, before you marry someone who is not of the same denomination as you are.

You pray to the Virgin Mary and saints.
Christians do not.
As long as you believe in Jesus you are ok.
Watch out when and if you try to get married, the
Catholic church will give you some trouble since she
is not catholic.
