Well, we can't hate something that's not there, can we ;-)
However, on a more serious note, we don't. What he hate is the corruption of reason that religion causes. We hate the death and destruction that religion brings to the world. We hate the twisted things people do to others and themselves in the name of a God that they say commands them to do it. We don't hate God because we don't believe him. We hate the effects of God upon the world because very few of them are good and the ones that are can be accomplished without Him.
Become a secular humanist. You will still lead a happy life and won't have all the baggage that religion brings to the table.
