During storms my dog gets scared. He shivers. For a few minutes last week during one he sat by me but then he went into the kitchen. I heard him scratch at the door I went in to see what he was up too. Then he went upstairs when he got is open. I sat down he came down when he realized I was down here.
Today he did it again and this time it's a nice sunny day out. I was feeding the cats which is why I have to keep him in when I do that. It was strange for normally he knows I'm outside. He's adult male part chineses sharpay part yellow lab. He's shaggy like a golden retreaver and black so I think he has retreaver Genes. He's about 3 I think.

My female Dobie likes to get shoes and things and put them in front of our male, like he took them. Then she comes and puts her head in our laps, like "Look what he did, mama." All while giving us her innocent look. It's hilarious.

My rescued black lab (3 y/o female) has an obsession with the bottom of the trampoline. When the kids are jumping, she gets underneath and flips smooth out. She barks, stomps, tries to bite at their feet through the trampoline, gets going 100 mph doing "zoomies" runs back under the trampoline and starts over. We tried putting her in the house when tey jump and she tore up the door. She has gotten her brain bopped a few times, and doesn't even phase her. then there are times she can be asleep under the darn thing while they jump. Wierd dog, but we love her anyways.

My male Yorkie has strange eating habits. He'll take a mouthful of kibbles from the kitchen into the living room. He drops them on the floor and then stands there, trying to decide what one to eat first. Sometimes he'll lay down and look at them. About once a week the little female Yorkie will run by and steal them all. Then he has to start over again.

If he did the same behavior at about the same time of day as when the storm was the day before, he may just be associating the general time of day with anxiety. Or, he may have decided it's a game to see if he can get your attention. Or he may be reacting to some subtle change in your routine/behavior. Hard to tell.
my dog does a lot of things i can't explain (and don't think i ever will be able to - that's what makes dogs so fascinating - i never grow bored with them).

There probably is no real reason for your dogs behavior except that he is just being a silly dog! In my house we have a service dog and he goes to school everyday with my sister. Most mornings he is really spunky (he is the only one!) but one morning he was really tired. We all showered him with loads of attention because he was not his usual self, and now every morning he pretends to be grumpy so we will play with him, but you can tell he is really happy ( he does understand how to control his tail wagging!). Dogs can pick up on things and play games really quickly.

My cocker spanial has this new thing for bathtubs. As soon as he sees the bathroom door open he rushes to the tub who's elevated. He will go up the steps and walk on the edge of the tub and eventually go in then he can't get out cause it's too deep. Got to watch him cause when I run myself a bath sometimes he beats me to it...haha.

My dog hates stormy weather too and tries to hide behind the toilet--only he's 125lbs! He actually does one cool thing. He wears a chain choker collar and if you take it off he gets annoyed and waits for you to hold it open so he can put his head back through it to get it back on! We call it his "necklace" and as soon as he hears that word he looks at you and almost dares you to get it off of him!

My dog likes to help me get dressed in the morning. If she's in the bedroom while I'm getting my pants, she comes and runs around under the pant legs as I'm holding them up to step into them. If by chance I manage to get dressed without her in the room, she'll head-butt my legs in order to play with the pant legs as soon as she sees me.

She's weird... but she's cute...

Mine is afraid of doormats. He has to jump over the doormat on his way into the house.

My Border Collie, Shadow, is obsessed with shadows. It's funny because she wasn't when we named her, but now the name is rather fitting :)
