I guess it depends on how the relationship ended. I ran in to someone I had a 5 year relationship with, however the feelings had diminished (this is why we broke up). It was a little awkward, but did not cause any pain or old feelings.
I know if I ever ran in to this other guy I was with...with whom I had a shorter, yet passionate relationship, no matter how many years later, I would feel hurt and sad and I would start thinking about what could have been, or the good times, etc. Has this happened to you?

It had been many years since I'd seen him, and I was living in a different state. He approached me- in a mall of all places. My heart did a thunka, thunka, thunka thingie, I gulped and we chatted for about 15 minutes, which brought back some nice memories, some not so nice ones too......and that's pretty much it. No sense crying over spilt milk as they say.

I went stiff, my blood ran cold, and a terrible since of doom crept over me. I didn't know what to do or say, or how to act, it was like my brain just shut down.

terrible, she was with her whole devilish family and I was with my new girlfriend, really nasty breakup 2 weeks before and she was with my best friend at the time. I just kinda gave them a wave without looking at them and kept walking, god I hope that never happens again!
