today my cat got beat up by a flock of birds.. they were dive-bombing him and he was freaking out.. i mean c'mon your a ******* cat kill them birds.. but no he ran away screaming.. I am so dissapointed in him i think i will get a dog!!!

Unless he's a skilled hunter, any prey that doesn't act like prey will cause hesitation and even retreat in cats.

Prey runs away, it doesn't attack. Instinct says to grab prey that retreats, not stand and fight your food. Give the cat a break and stop putting human connotations on normal animal behavior.

If it's a whole flock, then no wonder it ran away. Birds dive-bombing are different than clueless birds eating bread crumbs. Cats don't go and find the scrappiest bird to kill, but the one that's too weak or too clueless to get away.

One cat vs a flock of birds, you'd likely run away if it was you against a 4 or 5 other people...
