I am 39 years old and don't do sport but my job means i need to be standing up most of the day and walking about. I am not over weight. But when i walk a short distance there is always a tight pain at the top of my legs it goes away after i sit down for half an hour.....any ideas what it could be. I am also vegetarian don't know if that means anything.

I'm not sure what you are referring to by the "top of your legs."
Do you mean the front of you thighs? (Quads), the back (hamstrings), front of you lower legs, your calves?
You're probably too young to have vascular related problems.
Most common reason: improper gait - check to see if your shoes wear evenly. If not, your feet are the problem.
See a foot doctor or get proper correcting shoes inserts.

Im guessing that you need to stretch really good before and after your walks, the same thing has happened to me before.
