I found out my girlfriend was cheating on me. I dumped her, but its me who is suffering. I am having such a hard time with this that I actually needed to talk with a doctor. He put me on Paxil. I feel like I'm losing my mind. Is this normal?

It's completely normal to be devastated. Just try not to stay on the anti-depressants too long or you will have a hard time when you stop taking them.

I know it feels like the end of the world right now, but all you have to do is remember that it will get better, day by day. Breakups are one of the most horrible things in the world--just hang in there and remember that you're the better person in this situation. Whatever you do, don't take her back. She cheated once, she'll do it again.

She'll be the one suffering in the end.

I was also on Paxil when my husband & I seperated. I was suffering from depression pretty bad, but not to the point of being suicidal. I just have a hard time dealing with relationships & trusting men. It's normal. But you will get through it. It does help to talk to a therapist. It helped me alot, but now I'm feeling I need to go back again, but without the meds. I wish you luck.

Yes its OK to get some help after a bad breakup but if the Paxil is making you feel worse, PLEASE tell your doctor, just call the office and tell them you would like something else to help you that you don't feel right taking the Paxil, they will accommodate your request. It takes a long time to get over a ex but its probably just as well because she wasn't' the ONE. They say time heals all wounds. Try to stick it out, and get out of the house with friends, do not stay alone.
Hope this helps a Lil.

I can't ask you to forget this girl but u really should. It may or may not be your fault, such that she had to cheat on you. I mean why did she have to cheat on u? It could be that shes too flirty. yes.

You feel that ur losing ur mind, it shows u are crazily in love with her and had expected her to do the same.

Throw those paxils away, u shd find a friend and be receptive to what they said.

Hope this helped

Yes your a human being like everyone else. Best thing to do is to move on and realize that she was the one that messed up on a good thing. The sooner you get out on the dating scene and find someone the sooner you will be able to get over this break-up

It happens occasionally, especially if other things are on your mind as well. I'd hope that it wouldn't be necessary though as it could indicate an unhealthy dependence on the person who you are no longer with.

Yes, it is normal to feel bad, but dont take anti depressants. They may only make you feel worse.
