Might sound cheesy but I had karaoke at mine and it was brilliant. Everyone enjoyed it, even those that don't normally get up and sing had a go at it. I totally recommend it.

Go for a really good ceilidh band or a barn dance rather than a disco.
If you have a disco, you'll probably find most of the over 35/40s just sit down for most of the evening. A disco is usually great for the friends but not so good for the family.
We had a ceilidh at our wedding and it was fantastic. Everyone aged 3-80 was up dancing all night - although the guests in their 70s and 80s only braved the mad dance floor for the slower numbers.
Even better was that the two sides of the family all got mixed up together and properly introduced to each other, instead of sitting at their own separate tables. Some even exchanged addresses! They were talking about it for months.

I got married last May I also had a band but wanted someting a little more to entertain the guest I looked into quiet a few but we got a fire eater and he went down realy well with the guest and also we had our meal in a very posh hotel and we had 2 comedians who dressed up as table attendents and served the meals with all the other real table attendents, it took a while for the guests to realise that these to untidy and bad mannered attendents were comedians but we all got such a laugh out of them. I guess it depends on the theme and style of your wedding but i think weddings are all ceromonious enough that the comedians put everyone into the party spirit.

All the very best of luck to you and no matter what you decide to do on your big day it will be the best day of your life. Enjoy every minute because the day just flys by.

what lovely people thinking on the guests and the kids that's a fab idea as it does get boa ring waiting while the photos ,wee had the friends and family singing while the group had a break then we had paper plates all on the dance floor when the music stops you sit on the plate the last person to sit on there plate is out then you take a plate away its a wedding for you all as everyone is there to celebrate your marriage congrats and have a great time

A Magician???? How old are the bride and groom????
Oh...I bet this is one of those doggy marriages, right?
At a "people" wedding the wedding IS the entertainment...
the dancing and food are part of the celebration....you do not need to put on a floor show for the guests...

A magician at a wedding? I dont get it.
Whats wrong with just dancing and good food & drink? Thats all I want to do when I go to a wedding. Dont waste your money. Spend it on the music and food.

I'd like to play games. A dart board would be cool. Throw the ball into the tub, like the fair. Tubs come in everybody's wedding colors, and we should win prizes (favors) like at the fair!

Perhaps a few regular games too like bocce and croquet.

Illusionists are cool- and a bit more "grown up" than a magician. Would avoid chocolate fountain at all costs- big brown stains aint gonna look good on your wedding dress girl.

Watch out for getting tacky at you wedding with these games. It's a wedding, not a shower. Open bar, good music and a chocolate fountain can be all you need.

Many photos can be done before the wedding..do the bride/ groom and wedding party during cocktail hour..it wont take long at all and your guests will be having fun at the cocktail hour.
