I am 21 and still wet the bed periodically. My girl friend of course knows about my problem and has been discrete. I generally wear a disposable diaper when I stay over anywhere. I was at her parent's house and it leaked badly. Her mother was polite, but needless to say, her entire family now knows and her younger brothers have humiliated me at a party at her house by announcing to anyone they saw that Lindsey's boy friend pissed up one of our beds.

If you have not already sought medical advise I would do that first. When someone wets the bed and they have no medical condition (sexually abused as a child or diabetic) then you are just sleeping to heavily. Set your alarm to go off in the middle of the night. Wake up and empty your bladder, splash some cool water on your face from the sink and set your alarm to go off at the regular time in the morning. This should help (if you do not have a medical condition) with your problem. Also I would suggest you not wear your disposable brief to bed (this will consiously tell you if you do wet the bed it is really no big deal because you can just take off the brief and throw it away) Do not wear the briefs or put disposable pads on the bed for protection. If you wet the bed then take off all the bedding and wash it. I went through this same situation with my 10 year old and he is now dry at night. You can do this! It will take no time at all if there is nothing medically wrong.

look I don't know if you are making this up or not. But sounds like you need medical assistance. Are you diabetic? could it be possible you are borderline and don't know? Because when diabetics have a spike in their sugar levels their body starts dumping glucose usually in their urine that is why some diabetics wet the bed. It is called Dawn Syndrome because it happens in the wee hours of the morning. It maybe that you have a bladder reflux that you do not full drain your bladder and after you relax it drains again. This is something a MD can diagnose. There are medications that help you not bed wet any more one is taken by mouth or inhaled. The MD can presribe that. Never the less I'd seek medical help.

Good Luck

Were you sexually abused as a child? Have you seen a doctor about this problem? I don't think it is normal to still wet the bed at age 21, but there could be some underlying issues to it that are out of your control. I would suggest looking into your past for signs of sexual abuse, and maybe go to a mental health professional for advice. Also, talk to your doctor. They have medications to prevent bed wetting. I am sorry that you are dealing with this. It must be really tough, and difficult to deal with the embarrassment of what happened at your friend's house. Try not to sweat it though. As they say..."this too shall pass..."

There's not a lot you can do to fix that situation...it's already occurred in front of God and everybody. But there may be some things you can do to ensure you don't have further occurrences. The fact that this happens only periodically suggests that it can be controlled, but deeper still, it suggests that there is a psychological component to this condition for you which means it's more likely to happen when you're under stress or in unfamiliar surroundings (like you-know-where). So, my first recommendation is to get a full medical workup to preclude physical causes. (Strengthening your PCG muscles may help in that regard, too. They're the muscles that restrict the flow of urine, and the more you contract and relax them, the more control you'll have over them when you need it). Next, (and maybe your doctor can help with this by making a good referral) a psychological assessment may be in order, too. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about that, but what is your question?

Have you seen a doctor about your incontinence?
