whatever your system will tolerate without causing more diarrhea....try a bland diet...The BRAT diet....Bannanas, Rice,Applesauce,Toast....stay away from dairy for now...drink plenty of fluids slowly...

The first thing to know is because the diarrhea is so bad, make sure you have a good fluid intake so you won;t become dehydrated. Never drink any fruit juices while you have this, it will only make it worse. I'm sure you have been told that. Eat foods that tend bind you, not severely of course, but things like bananas. Also, the more you eat, the worse the diarrhea. When I took care of patients with C-diff. we kept them on a liquid diet until it was gone. C-diff is horrible. I feel so bad for you. You can eat almost anything. Most pts with c dif have diarrhea so bad, there appetite is decreased and they usually have what is called post prandial diarrhea which means they eat and like a bat out of no where they get diarrhea and are sitting on the potty before the meal is even over.
Some physicians reccomend a low lactose diet because the lactose enzymes seems to irritate the already irritated bowel from the c dif colitis.
