It isn't a child at conception, that's all in your own head.

It isn't okay, even if the government has decided it's okay. Was the death of Terry Schiavo *not* a murder just because the government sanctioned it? Legalized murder is still murder.
Did you know that the cells start dividing instantly after the egg is fertilized? It only takes a couple of days for those cells to start specializing and preparing to become the organs and bones of the child. At just 3 weeks old the heart starts beating. At 5 or 6 weeks' gestation the baby has measurable brain waves and deliberate body movements. Most women have only just found out that they are pregnant at this time and the baby is very much alive.
Say whatever you want about it being a blob of tissue....you can be ignorant on purpose if you want. But scientific evidence has made it obvious that even from just a few weeks old (before most women even know they are expecting) that is a living child (blobs of tissue don't have heartbeats...). Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool who obviously doesn't know what they are talking about.

ok, so your stance here with this subject is pejorative, however the regulation in western international locations will call for this guy or woman be tried as an grownup, and extenuating circumstances would be stated to strengthen the defence. the full offence would be levied via the court, that is not likely that something could take place except lesser plea good purchase (and accompanying accountable plea) quotes are allowed. in many places that's not approved: it rather is a curious ingredient in US criminal juristictions. the load of evidence is on the prosecution, and the normally occurring of the defence will administration how powerful the mitigating circumstances are. If there is an intensive public/court/police record of the previous abuses, it rather is probably a not accountable or lesser can charge could be used, or that a mitigating defence would be victorious.

Hi. if you were told that your baby would be severely disabled.blind and deaf and would not live more than a few weeks if it was still alive at birth, are you saying you would not terminate? think about all aspects of this subject before making pious remarks ok !!! The anti abortion brigade all shout their mouths off about it being murder as from conception there is a life ,there well may be initially but some embryos die soon after conception but do not naturally abort from the mothers body so are you saying the woman must go through her pregnancy to full term knowing she will not have a living child at the end of it? dont forget there are many of you out there that have young daughters growing up and if god forbid anything like that happened or they were raped and get pregnant would you still make her have the baby because YOU dont agree with abortion? This is a ginger soapbox subject .!!!

Some people choose to believe that the baby is not alive until some point after conception. The fact is, a fetus is life, but we, as a society, sanction the killing of an unwanted fetus based solely upon the mother's desire to do so.
Why people dance around this simple fact, I don't know. Why can't we just be honest and say hey, it's ok to kill a baby. It's a burden and a cost which we don't want to impose on anyone.
To answer your question, yes it's obviously murder, but our society allows it so it is not murder in the legal sense. Many laws permit actions which are not "right" or "moral". I just hate how some people will bend over backwards to pretend abortion is something other than what it is.

Why ask a question if you already are set on the answer? I myself have learned the hard way to not ask a question that I already have an answer for.
Here's my answer:
It's not a child, it is a blastocyte that becomes an embryo and it doesn't have a sense of consciousness or a complete neural network until months after birth.
And primitive abortions were practiced in the early days of Christianity and debates were posed about when the soul actually entered the developing fetus.
If you really look into family dynamics, pregancy and women's health statistics, and issues related to birth control in America in the 19th century, you will see that life for women and children was pretty miserable--and short . Certain educated women became advocates for birth control and for women to take charge of their sexuality and procreation. It was very subversive at the time, but the quality and longevity of life for women (and children) has increased (more than doubled) over the past century because of it. Abortion is a so-called "necessary evil."

Ok, half of these people are clueless, Just because it's legal, doesn't make it any less of a murder. And a birth certificate does not make you a person. God knows you before you are conceived in the womb, and by terminating a pregnancy intentionally you are killing one of Gods children. Even if you are pro-choice, it's still murder of an utterly defenseless human being.

Im against it personally. I've read a study about it and
some point was raised that how about
If the health of the mothers is at risk at an early stage of pregnancy. Or instances that the survival of the fetus is dim than saving the life of the mother . Cant remember much but thats why there is people who are pro-abortion.

All these answers are telling you weather it is LEGAL or not but I don't believe that is what you were asking.... It is MORALLY wrong!! You are killing a child no matter what the court says!! These are the same people who will tell you that the court systems are stupid!! I do not worry about the people who have abortions or force their partners to have one.... they will have to answer for what they have done!!

Donna, Sorry to differ, but it is a life from the moment an egg and sperm join. Sure, it starts a cells but it continues to grow into the little human it is meant to become. Go to a 3D sonogram place. Look at the pictures taken as early as they can then tell me it is not a child.

How can we know if it wasn't the child itself that decided to abort its' life here? If you believe in eternal souls, and in reincarnation, then you might believe that we have a choice about whether to come here or not, and sometimes, we might change our "mind" about it. Perhaps we even know that we WILL be aborted, and the lesson is to the parents that aborted. Perhaps they have to learn something from making that decision. Or perhaps we as a whole learn something from this. Also, some believe that the "soul" is not in the body from the very beginning, but comes into the baby's body right before birth. Therefore, it would not really be "killing" it if you aborted. The soul is eternal, I believe, and would choose another vehicle (body), if it was MEANT TO BE.
