The bible offers wonderful moral lessons for children (and adults) and you could start with some of the well known stories, for example The Flood, David and Goliath, Jesus as Young Boy in the Temple, etc. Of reading from the Bible is important, but you can do role plays or watch a movie, like The Ten Commandments and then discuss as a group. You check with JW's they have two great tools for teaching children, My Book of Bible Stories and The Great Teacher.

Theres a whole lot of story in there you can tell.
If you are introducing them you could tell them some of the nice storylines, preferably with glossy pictures and perhaps videos if you can get them:
Old Testament stories often have a lot of violence, so it may be better to concentrate on the New Testament:
Old Testament...
David and Goliath
David's exploits
Daniel and the Lion's den; Daniel and Belshazzars feast
Psalm 23
New Testament:
Jesus' miracles (blind man, lepers, Legion, Jairus' daughter etc)
Jesus other supernatural wonders (water-into-wine, bread multiplication, walking on water, calming storms)
Miracles of the apostles and early church.
Acts - find out Paul's journeys and describe them.
Discuss some of the Proverbs in class
-------
Colourful books or videos are also great.

I think that new ten commandments movie coming out is going to be good for children, but another way that would work is they have video's at the library, cartoons and things that will actually get childrens interest, I think I would start with the stories of the Bible to get them interested, they'll learn from it real quick.

Get the kids version of the bible I believe it comes in different age groups. My oldest daughter when she was 10 received one from her uncle and it was worded in simple terms children can understand. It had pictures and it also has questions where they can review. Go to a christian book store or on-line. Good Luck

evilbible.com should do it.
Or did you want a pro-bible perspective? That takes the Skip The Parts Where God Smites The Crap Out Of People Two-Step, and the Don't Think Too Hard About What Jesus Actually Said Tango.

When I taught children' bible study I went to Christian book store, inexpensively bought flash cards, booklets geared toward children in that age group... They also have available coloring books... they also have books filled with game ideas to use to teach them different biblical lessons. Good luck and God bless****

make the bible stories fun. Focus more on the action and adventure stories, Sampson, David and the trickster stories of Jacob and Moses. Keep the faith, but keep it fun
