no, my sister got me some for the ps2 ages ago and i've since tried them in the ps3 but they don't work

No, you can't. PS3 games are region free, but PS2/PS1 games and movies aren't. There is no way to unlock regions now.

no unfortunatly u cant - i tryed that before and it messes it up big time but i think u can play american ps1 games on an english ps2
