That I can change people's minds just by pointing out a few obvious facts.
Well, I don't know if that's so much "illogical" as it is demonstrably untrue in practice. But I still believe it because that's just the kind of groundless faith I have in humanity...lol.

I don't believe in anything illogical. I believe in logic. That's why I'm an atheist.
Humanism and a healthy moral code can be based on logic without the interference of man-made deities.

Hi. I'm an atheist. The most illogical thing I believe is that sentient beings capable of pondering the origins of the universe evolved into existence from essentially nothing.

I believe in hope for the human race.
Why do I still believe it? Probably because I live in the UK and I get a relatively positive view of life, with comparatively little superstition/extremist religion/ public violence on display. (Discounting drunken yobs)
We stopped burning witches. We stopped burning Jews. We stopped electrocuting gays. We stopped burning women. We stopped enslaving other ethnicities. We stopped believing that a mental disability was a 'devil'.
We allowed women to vote. We no longer pray for crops or believe toads can cure strep throat. We no longer tolerate badger-baiting, bear-baiting, fox-hunting stoning of adulterers, drowning disobedient women in ponds. We no longer believe that people of different nationalities automatically have 'naturally-assigned' less 'human rights' than ourselves...
Racism is frowned upon, at last. We no longer have signs on our doors saying "no blacks, no irish, no dogs". We no longer have the IRA. We no longer have public whippings. We have Surfers Against Sewage, rather than sewage against sealife.
All this progress in the last few centuries. Surely that is hopeful?
Although I guess when the oil runs out and if theocracy runs in, then things could change....

That individuals can change the world. For the better.
I believe it because, while I have never seen it happen, it's a nice thought and there are some anecdotes about it...

That there is definitely life on other planets.
Not necessarily able to walk and talk as we do, but life for sure.
I believe it just because it borders on scientifically impossible that we are alone in the universe (although this gets into Fermi's Paradox).

That I should still be regarded as a person without a hyphenated label attached to me. Don't know why I still do, but I'll keep believing it anyway.

The most illogical thing I believe is that there is hope for the human race - its illogical because most people are morons.
I believe it because I need to be optimistic about humanity.

What: That theists are capable of rational thought when it comes to their religion.
Why: I find it hard to believe that otherwise intelligent people can believe such childish things.
