You stopped going to church and stopped reading the bible, what do you feel like you got sucked into?
I'm guessing you feel as though you got sucked out of religion or sucked into secular society? something like that.
Going on that,
You should really get alone with God, atheists will laugh at me for this one,
you know you believe in God and if you don't you should look at it a little more there is always alot more to learn even if you have read the Bible cover to cover, and talk to other strong christians, they often have interesting things to tell you about the Bible and God, get interested.
You have to think about what it is that might be taking you away from God, and you have to stop that.
Also seminars or DVDs are fun ways to get excited, its hard to be so excited for the lord and then turn around and be the oposite.
Change friends maybe?
Whatever it takes to get you where you need to be.
Remember as long as you have accepted Gods free gift of salvation, even when you sin, you are not lost but still saved, all you have to do is get back on track, which will be easier because you have God on your side.
I hope that helped,
feel free to email me,
Jessica

You should not feel as though missing out on church makes you a bad Christian, or even that sinning makes you a bad Christian. Being a Christian means you recognize that you are a sinner, that you have done wrong. Salvation is a gift from God, not something that you earn by going to church or through works or deeds.
Ask God for help and strength in dealing with the things that you wish to improve in your life. Talking to him and maintaining a relationship to him is key to spirituality. Reading parts of the Bible couldn't hurt if you feel you have not done this recently. But don't worry about not being able to live a sinless life - none of us are able to do this. That you have not been able to either does not make you any more or less a Christian.

Go back to church, start reading, stop using the Lord's name in vain and get right. Like a fire full of wood, a log taken out will burn out if removed.
It is ok to have relapses. It happens to the best of us. We aren't perfect, we are human.
Good luck. If you need a prayer partner, or someone to be accountable to, email me. I will be there for you.

Without knowing a thing about your situation, I can guess it was likely one of three things.
There is something else going on in your life that is weighing on your mind and creating a distance with God.
Or
The church you attended didn't meet your needs or aggravated you in a way that made worship difficult.
Or
You are going through a time of questioning, which happens to many people.
If this is about the church, look around for a different place of worship. If something in your life is weighing on your mind, it is always better to take it to God in prayer. He doesn't wave a magic wand and make troubles go away but he does guide us through difficult times.

Those here that are still atheist will now attempt to slaughter bad answers trying to get you to leave God. They are slaves to Satan for free and do not even know it. Get into a good full gospel church and pray, pray, pray. then read the word, A LOT and when you have questions ask your pastor. I used to be a non-believing atheist so i know what i am talking about. atheists here in R & S will bombard you trying to convert you then deny that this is what they want. I as a FORMER atheist will tell you the truth that being an atheist is a lonely life but do not expect any here to admit to that truth. again find a good church and stick with God !!! and feel free to e-mail me if you need to find a Bible believing church in your area. you can e-mail me by clicking on my avatar then clicking on my e-mail link

Joel,
Read about the Lost Son. It is amazing what kind of a story it is to review from time to time. GOD will accept you back. Find a CHURCH that is teaching HIS TRUTH and begin attending (again). Read, study, and obey HIS HOLY WORD. I would be glad to assist you in any way that I can. Let me know if you need my help and I will assist you. Have a great day and a wonderful week!
Thanks,
Eds

We all stray away brother and the fact that you recognize it is a good thing. Start going to church again, read your bible and inspirational books(Max Lucado is a great Author), pray, and open yourself up to God. Have a heart to heart with Him. Let him know why you strayed away and that you want him back in your life. Ask him to come into your everyday life again. Believe me, everyone strays away don't feel bad. Remember you are only as close to God as you allow yourself to be.
Be Blessed!

Being a Christian is not based on how you feel. It is based on your decision to accept that Jesus is who He says He is and accepting the gift of grace and mercy from Him that is freelly given and offered to all mankind. If you have done this then you are no longer who you were. It is vitally important that each of us take the time to renew our mind and start to understand life and the world around us from God's point of view. We do this by reading the Holy Bible and asking the Holy Spirit that indwells within us to help us to understand and how to apply the wisdom and knowledge in it to our daily life. Christianity is about having a one on one relationship with the Living God. Jesus has removed all of the barriers that seperate us from God. It is when we do not take the time and effort to renew our mind that we are sucked back into the the standard and view of life that is promoted by the world around us.
How awesome is it that even though we are unworthy God has chosen to love us completely just as we are? As we mature and grow in our personal relationship with Him He changes us from the inside out and teaches us how to recipricate the perfect love that He has for each of us to Him and to those around us. Since this is a process and not an overnight thing He graciously renews the grace and mercy He bestows on us every morning. The world teaches us to do and then be. God wants us to learn how to be His child and then do the good works that He has prepared in advance for us to do. It is different for everyone in how God accomplishes this in our life because He always meets us where we are at. This is why we have the personal one on one relationship with Him.
It is important to remember that God's love for us has absolutely nothing to do with our perfomance. We can be pleasing to God through our obediance, however, our obediance to God has nothing to do with how much He truly loves us.

It's never too late to go back.
It's times like this where you might think it's pointless, hopeless or just too hard to get back into it. That's what you shouldn't get sucked into. Instead, ask God to help you through this. Voice your concerns to God, through prayer, and ask Him to help guide you back to Him. He will not let you go astray.
Repent and Reconcile with the Lord, who always welcomes us back with open arms and a loving heart.
With peace in Chirst

The christian faith is just a bunch of emotional Hype the preacher do what they can to get an emotional response from you that will last until Friday and it wears off so you have to go to church again on Sunday. that's how they keep their flock coming every Sunday . Its emotional black mail
