I have a full size bed that is 10 years old. I want a new mattress, but I was thinking of upgrading to queen just for me. If I upgrade I will have to buy bed frame as well. Advice???

A queen is a lot bigger than a full. The best thing to do is go to a mattress store and lay down on several different types of mattresses until you find the type of support you like. Make sure you lay on each for at least 10 minutes.

While many people really like the memory foam it does have a tendancy to be very warm, (for me they get too warm).

buy as good a quality mattress and box spring as you can afford. also many boxsprings have holes in the bottom on he corners so that you can purchase wooden legs and screw them into the box and avoid the cost of a new bed frame! the wooden legs can generally be found at the big box hardware stores!
difference in sizes:
double = 54" x 72"
queen = 60" x 80"
so you will gain an additional five inches is width and eight inches in length - and yes people, size does matter! especially if you are a little taller, or a smidge wider, than the average person.

I'd stick with a full since you already have the frame and sheets that fit. I have a Sleep Number Bed and i love it. It won't wear out or get lumpy like spring mattresses, so you won't have to replace it again in 10 years.

Here's a link to the Sleep Number website:
