I have been raised Ctaholic and went through a Catholic education for 12 years. I have a blood Uncle who is a Priest. I am a facilliatator for the Boy Scouts of American religious emblems program. In all that I have never heard of a married couple being told they can not have sex if one or both are sterile. There is no evidence to support the claim it is in violation of any church law, either cannon or dogma.

No.
Any married couple, fertile or infertile, is allowed to have sex.
The Catholic Church believes that prior AND permanent impotence is a barrier to a true Christian marriage.
However doubtful or temporary impotence, difficulties in conceiving, and even sterility are not barriers to a true Christian marriage.
In other words, the Church believes that sex is an integral and holy part of marriage but God may or may not choose to give children to the couple.
In legalese, the Catholic Code of Canon Law states:
Canon Law 1084 §1. Antecedent and perpetual impotence to have intercourse, whether on the part of the man or the woman, whether absolute or relative, nullifies marriage by its very nature.
§2. If the impediment of impotence is doubtful, whether by a doubt about the law or a doubt about a fact, a marriage must not be impeded nor, while the doubt remains, declared null.
§3. Sterility neither prohibits nor nullifies marriage, without prejudice to the prescript of.

I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school K-12. I have moved on, but I still remember a bit. I would say that is false. Sex is for reproduction in the Catholic Church's eyes. However, as long as you are open to producing a child (maybe you weren't as sterile as you thought), then sex is fine.

Not true. The thing with sex is it must be left open for the creation of life if it be Gods will. One must not try to prevent the conception---at the time of the act. If someone had been sterilized earlier and had repented, they of course could have marital relations because the marital act is above all a reuniting of the two fleshes into one through the driving force of love---this is to be so manifest as to actually create the one flesh---children-- but if it isn't going to happen then still the driving force of love is there.

You have never heard that it is against the Catholic religion to have sex if you are sterile because it is not what the catholic Church teaches.

No, it is not. It is against Catholic law to use contraception (which, by the way, 90% of practicing Catholics, including myself, disagree with), but they have no problem with people having sex if they aren't naturally fertile. If that were the case, then they would have to annull all marriages after the wife hit menopause, and that never happens.

You can have sex if you are sterile in hopes that a miracle will happen (that you will have children). I've heard of many cases where a couple conceived a child and they did not think they could. It happens. So no, the Catholic Church does not teach that.
However, intentionally sterilizing oneself (including the usage of contraception) is sinful.

Nope. Canon Law 1084 §3. "Sterility neither prohibits nor nullifies marriage, without prejudice to the prescript of ⇒ can. 1098"
Sterlility is not a problem, but Impotence is. Impotence is reason to nullify a marriage (with(out) concordant sexual union), not mere Sterility

Unfortunately this is something my wife and I know about first hand. The answer is no. Many perfectly nice people cannot have children for one reason or another.
