I had the same problem not much you can do except brush regularly using a soft bristle brush and floss regularly as well. Many things can attribute to why your gums recede need to see dentist as to why. You can get grafts done (they take tissue from the roof of your mouth) and put on your receding gums ask your dentist about them, my daughter had it done, her gums look great!!!!.......good luck........

Brush your teeth with a soft tooth brush, never firm. Use soft circular brushing movements never up and down. Recession of gums unfortunately is just part of getting older, no matter what your age but if you follow the above you will minimse it. As to your question of making teeth grow again to their normal level, you cannot. It sounds to me as if you have a grinding problem, which shortens the length of your teeth. See your dentist and ask for a night grinding guard as most of the damage happens while you are asleep. This will prevent any further damage being done. Also ask your dentists advise on how to artificially lengthen your teeth, ie. crowning(capping) or veneering(like false finger nails) or resin restoration.

Tamil,

once the gums have receded it's impossible to have them "grow again."
Why not?
Because the thing making them look nice, the underlying bone, has also been traumatized and has also receded.
Why?
Too much pressure and/or bristles are too firm.

What you can do to keep it from getting worse is:
# 1 Make sure the toothbrush you use has soft bristles.
# 2 Brush gently and don't hold your brush like a baseball bat or broom when you brush.

Its how you brush. If the gums at the bottom of your mouth are receeding, try and brush them with a circular motion hitting the upwards motion at the right point. Likewise if they are receeding up top, try and brush down at that point. You will find this is a new action for you meaning it may have been your brush that made them receed in the first place.

Also dont press so hard with your brush!!!
