They play the same songs every 45 minutes.

Usually because they get overplayed, and taste changes pretty regularly. The things I liked last year are very different from the things I like today.

Try listening to some of the songs you liked two or three years ago you should find it very interesting to see how your taste has changed in that short time span.

Because radio and tv play them all day every day and you get sick of it. Most "good" songs are just really a catchy melody that tires but a real good song sung by a master is timeless.

Commercial radio overplays records on rotation perhaps.
There is more than commercial radio out there.

the good ones don't.....it is a reflection of the poor quality of most modern-day songs

there is that this song that George strait sings with caroll baker referred to as " I ought to have placed a carry on love" and one via Merle haggard referred to as " mama tried and Hank snow's " i'm shifting on" is good

It could be that they aren't very good and sound too generic, but that is just my opinion.
