Whn I checked in 'CIRCUITCITY", he sadi the movie DVDs may not work and the game should work. But he is not sure. I know there are games available in India at 100-200 bucks. But if it wont work, there is no point in buying from here and again paying some 1500 to modify it. Please advice.

The games will work. I live in Turkey, and I bought a multiregional DVD Player, because american DVDs are region 1, but Turkish ones are Region 2. I have bought many games from America, and they all work with my PS2 here, because there is no defined region.

one thing you need to also do is check that it is an allowed import to India. The US goverment regulates what type of computer materials leave the US (and yes a PS2 is a computer) The movies that are available over there are not compatable with the US PS2 however are with the PS2 from Japan.

Hope this helps.

I think, India is a PAL region, whereas US is a NTSC U/C region. PAL games and movies won't run on US PS2, unless you'll chip it. I had this issue a couple of years ago wit my thai NTSC J PS2 console (I used to live in Middle East then - PAL region).

You would need to buy a outlet converter to have the same amount of energy to run it.
