Lately I noticed if my husband lightly pats me on my back close to my side or on certain parts of my legs, it hurts really bad. So i went to a doctor and they did a blood test and just called back and said I have arthritus and referred me to a rheumatologist (or however u spell it). I am only 28 and I'm scared. What does this mean for me?

If you do have it, you'll just be put on anti-inflammatories (or something) to keep the swelling down.

Go to the rheumatologist before you listen to anything anyone says here. Everyone has a different experience and the younger you are and the more aggressive you are with treatment, the better your quality of life. They have better drugs and more options than ever. You can learn exactly what to do to make things better and live a good full life for a long time. But be aware that everyone, - even I have horror stories and there is always a different way to fix things. I went from having to use my hand sometimes to move my foot from the gas to the brake, to never having anything more than a slight pain when the barometer goes up and down. The right pill for me and the right exercise and the loss of a good deal of my fat and I can run up and down stairs. Be positive - take action, and take control yourself and you will be OK.

It's more annoying than anything else, but it can become very painful. I have a touch, I believe. Lots of rubdowns and cold beers, and you'll be good as new! So tell hubby to get crackin!
