Well Lydia, it just goes to show that my husband got lucky when he married me, unlike yours when he married you. Show him the video, I bet he thinks its funny.

That's what I said also vaya3, but when it came to it. I decided that making it a day to remember was worth more then my hair and make up. I started the cake fight. We where actually going to be nice. It's been over a year and my husband still tells me how happy he was that I did that. He said it just went to show how awesome of a women I am. He said that he was going to be nice, but that he was so much happier with how it turned out. He says its nice having a wife who does not worry about how she looks at all times. It really made him happy. But its your wedding and you should do what makes you both happy. Congrats!

My husband got cake up my nose and down my dress, as well as all over my face. I think it's great that you had fun on your wedding day, instead of freaking out about how your make up looked. That just seems rather shallow to me. Of course it's more important to have fun with your husband instead of having perfect hair & make up all day. After my husband shoved cake in my face, we all jumped in the pool in our wedding clothes.

Well I am glad that you did not mind it. It almost looked like it hurt. I know some people like to do this and other do not.

I asked my now husband to not smoosh the cake in my face only because I did not want it messing up my make-up and my hair, but that is just me.

At every wedding I have been too they try to do that to each other. At my first wedding my dad told my ex-hubby to remember you have to live with her for the rest of your life..don't do anythig you will regret...

My new hubby to be and I already said that we plan on getting each other one way or another that day!!

Congrats!!

I personally wouldn't do that, but since you were OK with it I don't see why anyone else should care or put it down. Who are they to judge? Many people in the wedding section like to say "Its your wedding do what you want." So I don't see why it doesn't apply here too. I get that they think its tacky and disrespectful, but again who are they to put down something YOU wanted to do. And I know as guests they usually don't like it but hey its your wedding do what you want! I hate that btw. It's not like you're hurting anyone, you looked like you were having fun with it. I know I'm probably going to get thumbs down, but you cares. So many people are uptight and it gets old, fast.

So when you went out for dinner on your first anniversary, did you start a food fight in the restaurant?

I think it's really sad. We had a wonderful wedding, dressed all nice and all - and with much too much respect for one another to just put on a sad show like that. Not exactly a treasured memory!
