I notice many YA members bashing people if their english grammar, or spelling is not perfect.
Please keep in mind that this Yahoo Answers forum is for Yahoo worldwide ~ see all the flags down there?

Let's have a little patience and constraint with our criticisms. Some of these people may be just learning English and find this a fun way to share what they know ~ only to be slammed for spelling and grammar errors.

Let's Keep it Fun!

While I sincerely appreciate your concern I have never really witnessed any one being bashed for anything! I am not an American, however, I find everyone here very friendly and cooperative! Anyway I give you a star for your concern!!!

I couldn't agree more.

But also, it does seem that Americans are slipping when it comes to proper grammar and spelling. I notice it in emails I receive from upper management. It's embarrassing. They don't seem bothered by it but I can't help but find it a tad bit insulting. Also, we should be polite but if I misspeak then I want people to tell me because how else will I be able to improve?? There is no reason to be rude or mean.

Actually, if you click on the flags down there, you go to that country's Answers page. This is the Answers intended for those who speak U.S. English.

I don't bash people for their spelling or grammar, unless they're complaining that people have poor spelling and grammar. I absolutely despite Netspeak and the way people spell nowadays (cuz it sux u no wut i mean).

I get pretty agravated when people get power trips and try to correct the one misspelled word in someone's question.

However, I must admit that when there's a question that I cannot understand AT ALL, I will ask the asker to clarify it. I don't critisize the asker if it's obvious English isn't their first language, but I do ask if they can get someone to translate a little better.

And you have to admit when you see these teenagers on here who use "texting" language, it's annoying. (Ex: "omg, dz he like me?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Hez 2 cute!!!!!!!!!")

That's very polite, I couldn't agree more.

Also if you think my english is strange, it's cos I'm British

(just something I want to mention though, those flags down there direct you to other sites ;))

I agree. However, it would help in so many ways if a person would identify what country they live in, wouldn't it?
